    The role of University Libraries in Uganda in achieving the UN 2030 Agenda

    The full title of ‘The UN 2030 Agenda’ is, “Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” (United Nations, 2015). The Agenda has 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 targets that seek to build on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and complete what MDGs did not achieve. They are integrated and indivisible and balance the three dimensions of sustainable development: the economic, social and environmental.

    This is a keynote address during the DIES Conference on Female Leadership and Higher Education Management in Developing Countries held on 28-29 June 2017 in Bonn, Germany. The address focused on strengthening gender equity in higher education leadership with the emphasis on empowering women for the leadership position.
